The house, grounds and tea bar are open to the public from May to September on Sundays, Bank Holiday Mondays and Mondays in August from 2.30pm – 5.30pm. Tours run hourly at 2.30pm, 3.30pm with the last tour at 4.30pm. The rooms on show are the Main Hall, Library and Conservatory, and on the first floor the Ballroom and Drawing Room.
If you are looking for a quiet and more relaxed tour, our 4:30 tour would be more suitable.
Guided Tour of the house is £12 per adult and £6 for under 14’s. (Approximately one hour).
To avoid disruption and congestion in the village, please park within the grounds of Avington Park.
In our Tea Bar we offer light refreshments including a cream tea. We cannot guarantee their availabilty as the scones are baked freshly for the day. We are happy to take bookings for cream teas in advance.
PRIVATE GROUP TOURS
Private tours for groups (minimum 20) are most welcome all year round by arrangement.
Catering can be arranged if required, ranging from light lunches, cream teas, home-made cake, or simply tea, coffee and biscuits.
“One of the most nearly perfect and most unaltered examples of a country Georgian Church is near Winchester at Avington, the smallest parish in Hampshire.” St Mary’s Church is in the grounds close by and may also be visited. We can also arrange for a Barrel Organ recital. Of all the remaining barrel organs in England, perhaps none has a more idyllic and typical setting than the one here at Avington.

The setting is idyllic and so beautfiul in the sunshine. The house has a very interesting history, and the owners have been very well connected over the years, and it’s nice at the same time that it’s not too big. Tea in the gardens was lovely too. Thank you again. We look forward to visiting again soon. Mr Keeping. May 2018
Our tour guide was very entertaining; his droll comments punctuated a very informative and absorbing commentary. Your staff are refreshingly polite. This was our first visit and we were warmly welcomed as we were informed of the schedule and facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and will happily recommend family and friends to visit. Avington Park is a credit to you. Thank you for taking care of this beautiful place and for opening your doors to the public. Mr and Mrs Ticehurst. May 2018
A group of my members visited Avington Park yesterday and we loved it. The house was very interesting and the lunch was delicious – the best Christmas meal we’ve had. We were guided round the house by Helen and she knew her stuff definitely and was very good – please thank her on behalf of all of us. And thank you for all you did to make it possible, because we really enjoyed it all. Thank you to all involved. S Stevenson-Hamilton – Chichester Cultural Excursions. Dec 17

Thank you Sarah and all the very pleasant ladies who provided us with a really excellent lunch declared by all to be tasty and plentiful. Everyone loved the house, the gardens and the beautiful river. Most of the group would have gladly moved into the beautiful, relaxing house. We have recently had a committee meeting and I can report that all were very pleased with the visit. I have had individual members also sending their thanks for a very enjoyable day, even though for part of it we had rain. Please pass our thanks to Roland for giving us all such an interesting and informative tour. Our thanks also go to yourselves and the owner for allowing us the wonderful opportunity to bring our cars and display them. Gary Wragg – Rolls Royce Enthusiast Club – Aug 2017
Just wanted to say how much the Solent MG car club enjoyed our visit to Avington yesterday. I received lots of feedback from those that attended telling me how wonderful and interesting the visit was. Please pass our gratitude onto all staff at Avington especially Roland who gave us a very comprehensive and often funny guided tour of the house. Richard Evans (Solent MGOC) June 2017
We were made to feel very welcome and everyone said what a delightful spot for the house to be located. The weather was great and everything seemed to fall into place very smoothly. The house was very impressive, both inside and out and the tour of the house was very interesting (thanks to Helen’s informative talk) and to finish off the day with a cream tea, what more could people want!
